Auburn Police arrest man for making a terrorist threat first degree

Auburn, Ala. - On Nov. 22, 2023, Auburn Police arrested Joshua Eugene Mata-Hernandez, age 29, from Auburn, AL on a felony warrant charging him with making a terrorist threat first degree.
The arrest stems from Auburn Police receiving a report on Nov. 22, 2023 in reference to threats being posted on social media. Police reviewed the published threats and determined the content was consistent with making a terrorist threat first degree as defined by Alabama law.
Joshua Eugene Mata-Hernandez was identified as the suspect making the threats, and after further investigation, an arrest warrant was obtained. Mata-Hernandez was located by Auburn Police on Nov. 22 and arrested in obedience to the warrant.
Mata-Hernandez was transported to the Lee County Jail and held on an $3,000 bond.

All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
